Error Code 3C
The washer motor cannot spin or is struggling to turn
Moderate
Address soon - your appliance may not work properly
Also displayed as: 3C
What This Means
Motor spin net is not engaged; Motor internal coil is damaged (short-circuited or cut); Hall sensor terminal is not connected; Foreign material (such as a screw) has entered the motor; Motor overloaded due to too much laundry (non-sensing); Motor hall sensor terminal is disconnected; PBA fault causing weak motor drive signal; Unstable relay operation; Erroneous operating signals from the motor hall sensor; IPM terminal of main PBA is not connected; DD motor cover is out of place; PCB housing terminal is not connected; DD motor fault
What actually causes this:
The washer is overloaded with too much laundry, or the motor or its sensor has failed
First Thing to Check
Remove some laundry to reduce the load, then restart the cycle
Parts Involved
How to Fix
- 1
1. Check motor terminals for proper connections and contacts
- 2
2. Plug out the motor connector and read resistances at any two of the three motor terminals — should be 6.0 ohms at 25 degrees C
- 3
3. Check motor winding coil: wire order is Blue, White, Red from the right; resistance between Blue-White, White-Red, and Red-Blue should each equal 15 ohms
- 4
4. Check the hall sensor connector and replace if the hall sensor terminal is faulty
- 5
5. Check whether the motor cover stator is damaged
- 6
6. Check rotor and stator for foreign material and coil disconnections
- 7
7. Check resistance on the main PCB (between pins 1 and 3, and 1 and 4 of the four pins) — approximately 2 to 4 megaohms
- 8
8. If the PBA control circuit is faulty, replace the PBA
- 9
9. Check voltage when power is on
