Convection Element vs Motor Removal Sequence

The convection element and motor assembly are NOT separately serviceable - they come as one unit - attempting to disassemble them separately will break the motor coupler and cause costly additional damage

Self-clean door latch jamming

Most common cause is accumulation of debris in the latch mechanism or loosened mounting brackets vibrating during self-clean cycle. Clean mechanical linkages thoroughly before replacing expensive motor assembly.

Try this first

Convection motor bearing wear

The upper and lower convection motors wear at different rates. Upper motor runs more frequently (often dual or convection bake modes). If audible grinding noise appears, replace the worn motor before bearing failure causes motor lockup.

diagnostic_shortcut

The convection fan motor uses a thermal cutoff - if it overheats from blockage, it shuts down even after the blockage is cleared. You may need to let it cool completely (30+ minutes) before it will restart. This is not a motor failure.
