Error Code 3E
The washer's motor cannot spin or is detecting a problem
Moderate
Address soon - your appliance may not work properly
Also displayed as: 3E
What This Means
Motor spin net not engaged; Motor internal coil damaged — short-circuited or cut; Hall sensor terminal not connected; Foreign material (e.g., a screw) entered the motor; Overloading — too much laundry; Washing motor fault; Washing motor hall sensor fault; Incorrect connections of washing/hall motor connector; Main PCB fault; Motor stator cover damaged; Rotor fault due to foreign material
What actually causes this:
The washer is overloaded with too much laundry, or a small object got stuck in the motor
First Thing to Check
Reduce the laundry load — if the tub is packed full, remove some items and restart
Parts Involved
How to Fix
- 1
1. Check the motor winding coil — plug out the connector and read resistances at any two of the three terminals on the motor (should be 19.3 ohms at 25 degrees C)
- 2
2. Check the motor connector terminal connections and contacts
- 3
3. If the hall sensor terminal is faulty, replace the hall sensor
- 4
4. Check whether the stator of the motor cover is damaged
- 5
5. Check the resistance on the motor — check for disconnections for coil due to foreign material (between pins 2 and 3, 3 and 4, and 2 and 4 of the four pins). Resistance: approximately 2 to 4 megaohms (Hall IC)
- 6
6. Check the voltage when the power is on — check connector Cn1, pins V5-1 (Hall-A-2, Hall-B-3, GND-4, Clutch-5)
- 7
7. If the PBA control circuit is faulty, replace the PBA
- 8
8. 3E is also displayed because of overloading due to too much laundry
