Error Code 3C
The washer's motor cannot spin or is getting bad signals.
Moderate
Address soon - your appliance may not work properly
Also displayed as: 3C
What This Means
Motor spin net is not engaged; Motor internal coil is damaged (short-circuited or cut); Hall sensor terminal is not connected; Foreign material (a screw) has entered the motor; Motor overloaded due to too much laundry (non-sensing due to restrained revolutions); Motor hall sensor terminal not connected; PBA fault; Motor driving signal from PBA is weak or unstable relay operation; Erroneous operating signals from motor hall sensor; IPM terminal of main PBA not connected; DD motor cover is out of place; PCB housing terminal not connected; DD motor fault
What actually causes this:
Most often this is simply an overloaded washer — too many heavy items like blankets or towels.
First Thing to Check
Remove about half the laundry from the drum and try running the cycle again.
Parts Involved
How to Fix
- 1
1. Check the motor connector terminal connections and contacts
- 2
2. Plug out the connector and read resistances at any two of the three connections on the motor terminals (should be 12 ohms at 25°C)
- 3
3. Check the hall sensor terminal — if faulty, replace the washing motor/hall sensor
- 4
4. Check the resistance on the main stator of the motor cover
- 5
5. Check for coil disconnections due to foreign material (Between pins 2 and 4, and 3 and 4 of the four pins) — Resistance: Approx. 2 to 4 megaohms
- 6
6. Check the voltage when power is on
- 7
7. If the PBA control circuit is faulty, replace the stator
- 8
8. If 3C is displayed because overloading occurs due to too much laundry, reduce the load
