The washer drum motor is not spinning properly

Moderate

Also displayed as: 3C

What This Means

PBA connector terminal not connected; Motor spin net not engaged; Motor internal coil damaged (short-circuited or cut); Hall sensor terminal not connected; Foreign material (e.g., a screw) entered the motor; Motor overloaded due to too much laundry (non-sensing); Motor hall sensor terminal not connected; PBA fault — weak motor driving signal or unstable relay operation; Erroneous operating signals from motor hall sensor; IPM terminal of Main PBA not connected; DD motor cover out of place; PCB housing terminal not connected; DD motor fault

What actually causes this:

The washer is overloaded with too much laundry, or something fell between the drum and tub

First Thing to Check

Reduce the laundry load — remove about half the items and restart the cycle

Parts Involved

How to Fix

  1. 1

    1. Check the motor connector terminal connections and contacts

  2. 2

    2. Check the motor winding coil — plug out the connector and measure resistance at any two connections. Should be 6.0 Ohm at 25°C

  3. 3

    3. Check whether the stator or motor cover is damaged

  4. 4

    4. Check for foreign material between the Rotor and Stator

  5. 5

    5. Verify the motor power wires (Blue, White, Red from right) are connected — resistance between Blue-White, White-Red, and Red-Blue should be 15 Ohm each

  6. 6

    6. If the PBA control circuit is faulty, replace the PBA
