How to Fix

  1. 1

    Power off the dryer.

  2. 2

Inspect the moisture sensor bars inside the drum near the lint filter housing for visible contamination or damage.

  3. 3

Clean the moisture sensor bars with a clean dry cloth — dryer sheet residue or detergent film is a common cause.

  4. 4

Do not use dryer sheets (fabric softener sheets) in LG dryers; their chemicals coat the sensor bars.

  5. 5

Reconnect power and enter diagnostic mode: press Power then immediately Temp and Time; press START/PAUSE twice to reach moisture sensor display.

  6. 6

With door closed and drum tumbling, touch a damp cloth to the sensor bars; the display number should fall below 180 in normal operation.

  7. 7

If display does not respond, disconnect power and remove the NA6 connector from the main PCB.

  8. 8

Measure resistance between Pin 3 (GN ground) of NA6 and chassis ground — must be less than 1 Ω.

  9. 9

If resistance exceeds 1 Ω, the ground wiring to the sensor is open — check and repair chassis ground path.

  10. 10

Insert a jumper between NA6 Pin 2 (Orange) and Pin 4 (Blue) to create a continuity loop.

  11. 11

Measure resistance between the two moisture sensor bars on the lint filter housing — should be less than 1 Ω through the jumper path.

  12. 12

If resistance is high, check all wiring between NA6 connector and sensor bars; measure each wire (all should be less than 1 Ω); inspect connectors for corrosion, loose or bent pins.

  13. 13

If wiring passes, replace the electrode (moisture) sensor assembly.

  14. 14

If wiring and sensor are good but fault persists, replace the main PCB.

  15. 15

Restore power and re-run diagnostic moisture sensor test to verify repair.
