3C error code -- Motor Relay Short on PCB

The 3C error code indicates a motor relay short on the main PCB. This is a PCB-level hardware failure. Before replacing the PCB, verify the motor winding resistance is within spec (Pin 3-4 = 2.88 ohm, Pin 4-5 = 3.5 ohm) to rule out a motor-caused relay failure. A shorted motor winding could damage the relay.

Try this first

Dual vs Single heater -- different resistance values

This model is available with both DUAL and SINGLE heater configurations. DUAL: 13 ohm (PIN 2-3) and 34 ohm (PIN 1-2). SINGLE: 10 ohm (PIN 1-3). One element can fail while the other works in the DUAL configuration, resulting in reduced heating rather than no heating at all. Always test all applicable pins.

Ring terminals vs. spade terminals at power connections

Samsung recommends ring terminals over spade terminals for power cord connections to the terminal block. Spade terminals can work loose over time, causing arcing, overheating, and power delivery problems (potentially triggering 9C1 error). Using ring terminals ensures a more reliable and safer connection.

Static electricity precaution when handling PCBs

Electric models

Before touching or replacing any PCB (Main PBA or SUB PBA), you must discharge static electricity from your body by touching the power plug first. Static electricity from the resin parts of the dryer or the human body can damage electronic components. This step is explicitly required in the service manual before any PCB work.
