Error Code tE2
Temperature sensor (thermistor) failure — shorted circuit
Moderate
Address soon - your appliance may not work properly
Also displayed as: tE2
How to Fix
- 1
Power off the dryer immediately.
- 2
Enter diagnostic mode: press Power then immediately press Temp and Time.
- 3
Note tE2 displayed during diagnostic confirms thermistor shorted.
- 4
Disconnect power and discharge capacitors.
- 5
Remove NA6 connector from the main PCB.
- 6
Measure resistance between Pin 2 (Blue) and Pin 4 (Orange) without shorting.
- 7
If resistance reads near 0 Ω (shorted), the thermistor or wiring harness has a short to ground or between conductors.
- 8
Measure resistance between Pin 2 (GN/ground pin) of NA6 and chassis ground — should be less than 1 Ω if there is a wiring short to ground.
- 9
Separate the harness from the thermistor assembly connector and remeasure.
- 10
If still shorted, replace the thermistor assembly.
- 11
If now open, inspect harness for wires contacting chassis or each other.
- 12
Repair or replace harness as needed.
- 13
If fault persists with a confirmed good thermistor and harness, replace the main PCB.
- 14
Restore power and confirm no tE2 recurrence.
