Freezer Fan Error / BLDC Fan Motor Abnormality for Freezer
Moderate
Address soon - your appliance may not work properly
What This Means
Freezer fan motor seized (ice or rust); BLDC feedback signal absent for more than 65 seconds; Loose connection at CON5; Defective fan motor drive IC or transistor; Fan motor winding failure
How to Fix
- 1
Reset the unit and enter Test 1 Mode by pressing test button 1 time
- 2
Open the freezer door and check for airflow
- 3
Note: while error code is displayed the fan is not working
- 4
If no airflow: manually rotate fan blade by hand — if sticky, replace motor (cause is ice or rust inside motor)
- 5
If fan rotates freely: check for loose connection at CON5
- 6
Check fan motor voltage at CON5: 5th pin to 9th pin should be above 10V; if below 10V, replace PCB
- 7
Check CON5 9th pin to 10th pin: expect 0 or 5V; if not, replace PCB
- 8
Check CON5 5th pin to 8th pin: expect 0 or 5V PWM signal; if not, replace fan motor
- 9
Fan error logic: fan stops 10s, retries 15s, repeats 3 times; if still failed, error code displays for 30 minutes and cycle repeats
