Defrost Heater Error / Freezer Defrosting Error

What This Means

Defrost heater open circuit; Fuse-M blown; Defrost sensor out of range; Main PCB relay failed; 80 minutes elapsed since defrost start without defrost sensor reaching 41F/5C

How to Fix

1. 1

   Push test button 1 time to enter Test 1 Mode

   Check door gasket for proper seal

3. 3

   Check for loose connection at defrost control part connector

4. 4

   Check resistance of defrost control parts: Fuse-M should read 0 Ohm; if other reading, replace Fuse-M

5. 5

   Check defrost heater resistance: expect 34-42 Ohm; if out of range, replace heater

6. 6

   Check defrost sensor resistance against temperature table; if out of range, replace sensor

7. 7

   Enter Test 3 Mode by pressing test button 3 times (forces defrost mode, display shows 33 33)

   Check for loose connection at CON8

9. 9

   Check voltage between Brown and RED wires at CON8: expect 112-116V AC; if 0V, replace Main PCB

10. 10

    If voltage is present but heater does not heat, replace defrost heater assembly

11. 11

    Release test mode after diagnosis
