Freezer Fan Motor Error
Moderate
Address soon - your appliance may not work properly
How to Fix
- 1
Reset the unit. Enter Test Mode 1 (press test button 1 time). Open the freezer door and check for airflow at the evaporator duct. If airflow is present (windy), go to step 3.
- 2
If no airflow detected, go to step 4.
- 3
Check fan motor for mechanical binding: rotate fan blade by hand. If blade feels sticky or binds, replace the fan motor.
- 4
Measure fan motor voltage at CON4, 20th Pin to 19th Pin. Expected: 11.4–12.6 V. If voltage is not in range, replace the main PCB.
- 5
Measure fan feedback voltage at CON4, 18th Pin to 19th Pin. If voltage is 0 V or 5 V (not oscillating), replace the fan motor.
- 6
Measure fan PWM signal voltage at CON4, 17th Pin to 19th Pin. If voltage is 0 V or 5 V (not oscillating), replace the main PCB.
- 7
If all checks pass, explain normal operation to customer.
