How to Fix
- 1
Check door gasket for damage or gaps that allow warm air infiltration; if damaged, replace the door gasket.
- 2
With power OFF, measure defrost heater resistance at test points (1) to (2); expected 42 to 50 Ohm. If open/infinite, replace defrost heater.
- 3
With power OFF, measure Fuse-M resistance at test points (1) to (2); expected 0 to 0.1 Ohm. If open/infinite, replace Fuse-M (thermal cutout).
- 4
Measure defrost sensor resistance at CON8 26th Pin to 25th Pin. If open, the sensor is defective; replace defrost sensor.
- 5
Enter Test Mode 1 (press TEST button once): Measure voltage at CON9 5th Pin to 13th Pin; expected 0V in Test Mode 1.
- 6
If Test Mode 1 voltage is not 0V, replace the Main PCB.
- 7
Enter Test Mode 3 (press TEST button 3 times for forced defrost): Measure voltage at CON9 5th Pin to 13th Pin; expected 112 to 116V.
- 8
If Test Mode 3 voltage is correct but heater does not heat, replace the defrost heater assembly.
- 9
If Test Mode 3 voltage is not present, replace the Main PCB.
- 10
Check drain tube for ice or debris blockage; clear if blocked.
