Error Code E FS

Freezer sensor error — short-circuit or disconnection of freezer sensor

Moderate

Address soon - your appliance may not work properly

Also displayed as: E FS

How to Fix

  1. 1

Check CON8 Pin 22 ~ Pin 21 for short (0 Ω) or open (infinite) resistance. Short = replace sensor; open = proceed to step 2.

  2. 2

Check that the connector between Main PCB and freezer sensor is fully seated. Reconnect or repair any loose/damaged connector.

  3. 3

    With connector properly seated, measure sensor resistance at Pin 22 ~ Pin 21 and compare against temperature/resistance table (-22°F=40kΩ, -13°F=30kΩ, -4°F=23kΩ, 5°F=17kΩ, 14°F=13kΩ, 23°F=10kΩ, 32°F=8kΩ).

  4. 4

If resistance is within normal range at the current ambient temperature, the system is operating correctly — explain to customer.

  5. 5

If resistance is abnormal but connector and harness are intact, replace the freezer sensor.

  6. 6

If replacing the sensor does not resolve the error, replace the Main PCB.
