How to Fix

  1. 1

Check the door gasket for damage or gaps that could allow warm air infiltration causing excessive frost accumulation. Replace door gasket if damaged.

  2. 2

Enter Test Mode 1 (press Main PCB test button once): measure CON9 Pin 5 ~ Pin 13 voltage. Should be 0V in Test Mode 1 (heater off state). If not 0V, replace Main PCB.

  3. 3

Enter Test Mode 3 (press test button three times): measure CON9 Pin 5 ~ Pin 13 voltage. Should be 112–116V when defrost is forced. If voltage is absent, replace Main PCB.

  4. 4

Measure Fuse-M resistance (CON9 pins): should read 0 Ω. If open (infinite), replace Fuse-M.

  5. 5

Measure defrost heater resistance: F1 heater should be 62–70 Ω; F2 heater 144–167 Ω. Infinite resistance indicates open heater — replace heater assembly.

  6. 6

Measure defrost sensor resistance at CON8 Pin 26 ~ Pin 25: should be approximately 22kΩ at room temperature. If open or shorted, replace defrost sensor.

  7. 7

If all components test good and voltage is present, explain to customer (possible temporary condition from extended door opening).
