How to Fix
- 1
Step 1: Connect SVC App. Confirm error code is E CH.
- 2
Step 2: Using SVC App Step 1, measure high-side and low-side pressures and check equalization recovery time after power-off. If recovery is less than 15 minutes and pressure equalizes above 20 psi, compressor is pumping — check for restriction or leak.
- 3
Step 3: If equalization takes more than 15 minutes, system is restricted. Recover refrigerant and replace drier. Perform sealed system evacuation.
- 4
Step 4: If equalization pressure is 20 psi or less after normal recovery time, refrigerant is low. Check for leaks.
- 5
Step 5: Using nitrogen charge (SVC App Step 2), pressure-test the high-pressure side (condenser, drier, discharge pipe) with bubble solution or electronic leak detector.
- 6
Step 6: If leak is found on high-pressure side, replace leaking part and drier.
- 7
Step 7: If no leak found on high-pressure side, check low-pressure side (evaporator, suction pipe).
- 8
Step 8: If low-pressure side leak is found, replace leaking part plus compressor and drier (moisture contamination risk).
- 9
Step 9: If no leak found anywhere, replace drier and evacuate system, then recharge.
- 10
Step 10: After sealed system repair, error code clears automatically when freezer temperature reaches 14°F (-10°C). For next visit, install UV drier to trace any residual leak.
