What This Means

Poor communication connection (hinge wiring); Defect of Tx or Rx on display or main PCB

How to Fix

1. 1

   Step 1: Check all connector harness connections, especially the hinge pass-through wiring between Main PCB and Display PCB.

2. 2

   Step 2: Measure CON101 pin 18 to pin 16. Expected: 12V. If not 12V, check the hinge wiring for loose connection; if hinge is OK, replace Main PCB.

3. 3

   Step 3: Measure CON101 pin 10 to pin 16. Expected: 5V. If not 5V, check hinge connection; if OK, replace Main PCB.

   Step 4: Measure CON101 pin 14 to pin 16. Expected: not fixed at 0V or 5V (data line). If fixed at 0V or 5V, replace Display PCB.

   Step 5: Measure CON101 pin 12 to pin 16. Expected: not fixed at 0V or 5V. If fixed, replace Main PCB.

6. 6

   Step 6: Measure CON5 pin 4 to pin 3. Expected: not 0V or 5V. If fixed, replace Display PCB.

7. 7

   Step 7: Measure CON5 pin 5 to pin 3. Expected: not 0V or 5V. If fixed, replace Main PCB.

   Step 8: If all voltages are correct, explain to customer.
