Error Code E CF

Condenser fan (BLDC) defect — no feedback signal from machine room fan motor for more than 65 seconds

How to Fix

  1. 1

    Step 1: Reset the unit. Enter Test Mode 1 (press test button 1 time).

  2. 2

    Step 2: Check if the condenser fan is rotating. If fan rotates, go to Step 4.

  3. 3

    Step 3: If fan does not rotate, manually rotate the fan blade by hand. If it feels sticky or bound, replace the fan motor.

  4. 4

    Step 4: Measure fan motor supply voltage at CON4 pin 24 to pin 23 in Test Mode 1. Expected: 11.4 to 12.6V. If voltage is not correct, replace Main PCB.

  5. 5

    Step 5: Measure fan feedback voltage at CON4 pin 22 to pin 23. Expected: not 0V or 5V. If reading is 0V or 5V (constant), replace the condenser fan motor.

  6. 6

    Step 6: Measure fan PWM voltage at CON4 pin 21 to pin 23. Expected: not 0V or 5V. If fixed, replace Main PCB.

  7. 7

    Step 7: If all voltages are correct, explain to customer.
