Error Code F dH
Defrosting failure — defrost sensor does not reach 40°F (5°C) within 80 minutes after defrosting starts
Moderate
Address soon - your appliance may not work properly
Also displayed as: F dH
What This Means
Disconnection of thermal fuse (FUSE-M) or defrosting heater; Defect of heater relay on PCB; Drain tube blockage
How to Fix
- 1
Step 1: Inspect door gasket for damage or gaps. If gasket is damaged, replace it.
- 2
Step 2: Measure defrost heater resistance in Test Mode 1 at CON9 pins 5 to 13. Expected: 42 to 50 Ω. If heater resistance is not in range, check FUSE-M. FUSE-M should read near 0 Ω; if open (infinite), replace FUSE-M.
- 3
Step 3: Measure defrost sensor resistance at CON8 pins 26 to 25. Compare to refrigerator/defrost sensor table. If sensor reads exactly 22 kΩ or open, the defrost sensor or defrost controller assembly is faulty — replace product/defrost assembly.
- 4
Step 4: Enter Test Mode 3 (push test button 3 times — display shows 33 33). Measure voltage at CON9 pins 5 to 13. Expected: 112V to 116V. If voltage is not present, check relay on Main PCB or replace Main PCB.
- 5
Step 5: Enter Test Mode 1 (push test button 1 time). Measure voltage at CON9 pins 5 to 13. If voltage is not 0V in Mode 1, replace Main PCB.
- 6
Step 6: If all voltages and resistances are correct, explain normal operation to customer or check for drain tube obstruction.
