Defrost sensor defect — short-circuit or disconnection of freezer defrosting sensor

How to Fix

  1. 1

    Step 1: Check if the connector between the Defrost Controller and sensor is disconnected or loose. If yes, reconnect.

  2. 2

    Step 2: Measure sensor resistance at CON8 pins 26 to 25. If 0 Ω (short), replace the sensor.

  3. 3

    Step 3: If resistance is open (OL), replace the sensor.

  4. 4

    Step 4: Compare resistance to the temperature/resistance table. If out of range, replace the sensor.

  5. 5

    Step 5: If within spec, explain to customer (normal operation).
