Also displayed as: No display

What This Means

Heater is out of order; Heater is improperly connected; Heater element burned out or open circuit; Main PBA heater relay defective; Low water level causing safety program to prevent heater operation

What actually causes this:

The heating element burned out or a wire connection came loose

First Thing to Check

Check if your dishes feel cold after a cycle — if so, the heater has likely failed

Parts Involved

HeaterMain PBAHeater RelayThermistor

How to Fix

  1. 1

    1. Check the connections of the heater connectors — reconnect if loose

  2. 2

    2. Check the resistance between both ends of the heater directly, or check resistance between red wire of Heater Relay and black and yellow wires of Power Relay — Normal: approx. 12.14 to 14.16 ohms (check after disconnecting circuit breaker or power cable)

  3. 3

    3. Check the connections of the Heater Relay in Main PBA — check voltage between Red wire of Heater Relay on the base and Red wire of CN101 connector — Normal: 110-120V while operating

  4. 4

    4. Check drain hose installation condition — if water level is low in tub during heater operation, the safety program prevents heating

  5. 5

    5. Check thermistor operation — see tC check code diagnostics

  6. 6

    6. If heater tests normal, replace Main PBA
