What This Means

Compressor overheating due to restricted airflow; Thermistor 2 resistance out of range; Condenser clogged or dirty; Compressor malfunction

What actually causes this:

Most often caused by a clogged exhaust vent that traps hot air inside the dryer, or the heating element has burned out.

First Thing to Check

Check your exhaust vent — disconnect it from the back of the dryer and look for lint buildup inside.

How to Fix

    1. Check Thermistor 2 resistance

    2. Check and clean the condenser

    3. Verify airflow path is not obstructed

  4. 4

    4. Check compressor operation and temperature

  5. 5

    5. In Smart Install mode, HC indicates temperature did not increase over 3C, meaning motor and/or compressor are not working normally
