What This Means
Clogged lint filter restricting airflow; Restricted vent system causing heat buildup; Thermistor resistance out of range; Thermostat failure; Heater malfunction
What actually causes this:
Most often caused by a clogged exhaust vent that traps hot air inside the dryer, or the heating element has burned out.
First Thing to Check
Check your exhaust vent — disconnect it from the back of the dryer and look for lint buildup inside.

2. Check exhaust vent system for restrictions or blockages

3. Measure thermistor resistance: should be 10K ohm at 25 degrees C (77 degrees F)

4. Check thermostat resistance: should be < 1 ohm (infinity means replace)

5. Check heater resistance: 13 ohm (PIN 2-3), 34 ohm (PIN 1-2); also check 1(Black) & 3(Grey): 93 ohm, 3(Grey) & 5(Brown): 35 ohm
