Error Code HC

Your dryer isn't heating properly or is overheating

Critical

Stop using immediately - risk of damage or safety issue

Also displayed as: HC

What This Means

How to Fix

  1. 1

    1. Check the PCB and Thermistor

  2. 2

    2. Check exhaust vent system for restrictions or blockages

  3. 3

    3. Measure thermistor 1 resistance: should be 10K Ohm at 25 deg C (77 deg F)

  4. 4

    4. Check thermostat 1 resistance: should be < 1 Ohm (infinity means replace)

  5. 5

    5. Check thermostat 2 resistance: should be < 1 Ohm (infinity means replace)

  6. 6

    6. Check thermostat 3 resistance: should be < 1 Ohm (infinity means replace)

  7. 7

    7. Check heater resistance: DUAL heater -- 13 Ohm between PIN 2-3, 34 Ohm between PIN 1-2; SINGLE heater -- 10 Ohm between PIN 1-3

  8. 8

    8. If resistance is infinity on heater, replace heater assembly
