Error Code F-DEF-SENSOR
The defrost system cannot measure its temperature
Moderate
Address soon - your appliance may not work properly
Also displayed as: Freezer -15 C LED blinking
What This Means
Connector slipped out or open contact; Wire cut or short-circuited; Abnormal sensing temperature (above +65 C or below -50 C); Defective sensor
What actually causes this:
The sensor that monitors the defrost cycle has failed, which can cause too much or too little defrosting
First Thing to Check
Check if there is excessive frost or ice buildup on the back wall of the freezer
Parts Involved
How to Fix
- 1
1. Check that MAIN PCB CN30 connector is properly inserted
- 2
2. Measure voltage between CN30-4 (RED) and CN30-7 (GRY)
- 3
3. Voltage should be within 0.5V to 4.5V
- 4
4. Verify voltage at IC10 MICOM Pin #24 matches CN30 reading
- 5
5. If 0 Ohm, sensor is shorted; if infinity Ohm, sensor is open
