Error Code F-1-2
The freezer temperature sensor is not reading properly
Moderate
Address soon - your appliance may not work properly
Also displayed as: F-1-2 (LED blink pattern)
What This Means
Freezer sensor housing separated; Sensor connector contact error; Sensor wire disconnection; Sensor short circuit; Sensing temperature above 149°F or below -58°F
What actually causes this:
The freezer temperature sensor wire came loose or the sensor failed
First Thing to Check
Check if the freezer feels unusually warm or cold — if so, the sensor may be failing
Parts Involved
How to Fix
- 1
1. Check if Main PCB Connector CN30 is inserted correctly
- 2
2. Check if F Sensor unit is normal by measuring resistance at CN30 #5 to #8 — compare with temperature table
- 3
3. Measure voltage between Main PCB Connector CN30-#5 (Yellow) and REG1 Heat Sink — should be between 0.6V and 4.6V
- 4
4. Check input voltage of IC10 MICOM #57 — should match CN30-#5 voltage
- 5
5. If all normal, recheck bad contact of connector
