The fan near the compressor at the back of the fridge is not working
Moderate
Address soon - your appliance may not work properly
Also displayed as: F-1-5 (LED blink pattern)
What This Means
Fan motor feedback signal line contact error; Motor wire separation; Motor failure during operation; Foreign matter blocking condenser fan rotation
What actually causes this:
Dust buildup or debris is blocking the condenser fan, or the fan motor failed
First Thing to Check
Pull the refrigerator out slightly and check if the fan at the bottom rear is spinning when the compressor is running
Parts Involved
How to Fix
- 1
1. Execute manual operation to verify compressor is running
- 2
2. Measure voltage between Main PCB REG1 Heat Sink and CN76-#4 (Orange) — should be around DC 7–12V
- 3
3. Check if DC 7–12V alternates with below DC 2V between REG1 Heat Sink and CN76-#4 (Orange) — confirms pulse signal
- 4
4. Check if external temperature is above 66.2°F (19°C) — condenser fan may not operate in low ambient temps
- 5
5. If motor is locked, system retries 4 times at 10-second intervals
