Error Code 1
Freezer not reading correct temperature
Moderate
Address soon - your appliance may not work properly
Also displayed as: 1 (Freezer LED blinks)
What This Means
Freezer thermistor disconnected from MAIN PCB connector CN51; Freezer thermistor defective (open or shorted); Bad wiring between sensor and MAIN PCB; MAIN PCB defect
What actually causes this:
Temperature sensor is disconnected or broken
First Thing to Check
Make sure the wire connector is fully plugged in
Parts Involved
How to Fix
- 1
1. Enter self-diagnostic mode: press '<' + '>' for 6 seconds, press '>' to enter Engineer Mode, select '3', press 'O'
- 2
2. Measure voltage at MAIN PCB CN51 pin 9 to pin 11 — normal range: 1.0V to 4.5V
- 3
3. Disconnect CN51 and measure resistance between CN51 pins 9 and 11 — compare to temperature table (502AT thermistor: 5.0 kohm at 77F/25C)
- 4
4. If 0 ohm: sensor is shorted. If infinite ohm: sensor or wire is open
- 5
5. If sensor tests normal, check MICOM input voltage at IC01 MICOM pin 7, and resistor R356 on PCB
- 6
6. If all tests pass, replace MAIN PCB
