What actually causes this:

Ice maker mechanism stuck or motor failed, or water supply disconnected

First Thing to Check

Check water supply line is connected and not frozen — turn off ice maker and restart refrigerator

How to Fix

    1. Unplug refrigerator power cord

  2. 2

    2. Wait 5 minutes and plug back in

  3. 3

    3. Listen for ice maker motor operation and beeping sounds

    4. If no response, check water supply is connected

  5. 5

    5. Check ice maker connector for loose or corroded pins

  6. 6

    6. If error persists after power cycle, replace ice maker assembly
