Error Code 81
Compressor will not start or is stalled
Critical
Stop using immediately - risk of damage or safety issue
Also displayed as: 81
What This Means
Inverter PCB soldering defects or shorted components; SMPS (power supply) voltage insufficient — DC 15V below 13.5V; Compressor electrical fault or mechanical lock; Compressor wiring disconnected or damaged; Inverter protection activated
What actually causes this:
Power supply voltage too low or inverter board failed
First Thing to Check
Compressor should hum when cooling cycle starts — if completely silent, call technician
Parts Involved
How to Fix
- 1
1. Check DC 15V power output from SMPS — should be at least 13.5V
- 2
2. Inspect Inverter PCB for burned or swollen components
- 3
3. Check compressor wiring connections for corrosion or looseness
- 4
4. Measure compressor winding resistance (power off) — should be 2-5 ohms per phase
- 5
5. Listen for compressor buzzing (indicates mechanical stall)
- 6
6. If all checks pass, replace Inverter PCB
