What actually causes this:

Weak electrical circuit or too many appliances running on same circuit

Check if other appliances are running — unplug them and restart refrigerator

How to Fix

    1. Measure AC voltage at electrical outlet where refrigerator is plugged in

  2. 2

    2. Should read 115V ± 10% (103.5V to 126.5V normal)

  3. 3

    3. If voltage is below 103V, check other loads on circuit

  4. 4

    4. Unplug heavy appliances and retest voltage

  5. 5

    5. If voltage still low, contact electrician to check house wiring

  6. 6

    6. Verify power cord is not damaged or frayed
