House electrical system problem or wrong circuit used

Check outlet is on correct 115V circuit — do not plug into 240V outlet by mistake

How to Fix

  1. 1

    1. Measure AC voltage at electrical outlet where refrigerator is plugged in

  2. 2

    2. Should read 115V ± 10% (103.5V to 126.5V normal)

  3. 3

    3. If voltage is above 126V, check other loads on circuit

  4. 4

    4. Unplug heavy loads and retest voltage

  5. 5

    5. If voltage still high, contact electrician to check house wiring

  6. 6

    6. Check outlet is not wired for 240V circuit by mistake
