Error Code ⑧
The ice maker temperature sensor isn't reading correctly
Critical
Stop using immediately - risk of damage or safety issue
Also displayed as: LED blinks in self-diagnostic checklist position 8
What This Means
Ice maker freezer thermistor (502AT) disconnected; Wire harness damaged from ice maker to Main PBA; Thermistor defective (open circuit or short); Main PBA defect
What actually causes this:

First Thing to Check
Check if ice production has stopped — no ice in bucket indicates sensor/heater issue
Parts Involved
How to Fix
- 1
1. Measure voltage at MAIN PCB CN90 between pins 11 and 13 — must be 4.5V to 1.0V
- 2
2. Check connector at ice maker freezer sensor
- 3
3. Disconnect CN90 and measure thermistor resistance (power off)
- 4
4. At 77°F (25°C), should read 5.0 kΩ
- 5
5. If resistance is normal, replace Main PBA
