Error Code F
The freezer temperature sensor isn't reading correctly
Critical
Stop using immediately - risk of damage or safety issue
Also displayed as: LED blinks on freezer display
What This Means
Freezer thermistor (502AT) disconnected; Freezer sensor wire harness damaged or loose connector; Thermistor defective (open circuit or short); Main PBA defect preventing sensor reading
What actually causes this:
The freezer temperature sensor wire came loose or the sensor itself is bad
First Thing to Check
Turn off the refrigerator at the breaker, wait 30 seconds, then power back on
Parts Involved
How to Fix
- 1
1. Measure voltage at MAIN PCB CN20 between pins 10 and 12 — must be 4.5V to 1.0V
- 2
2. Check connector security at CN20 and thermistor terminal
- 3
3. Disconnect MAIN PCB CN20 and measure thermistor resistance directly
- 4
4. At 77°F (25°C), thermistor should read 5.0 kΩ
- 5
5. If resistance is correct, reconnect and check voltage again
