Error Code F-1-3
Freezer defrost temperature sensor is open, shorted, or out of range
Moderate
Address soon - your appliance may not work properly
Also displayed as: F-1-3 (LED blink pattern on panel)
What This Means
Connector at CN30/CN76 loose or disconnected; Sensor wire open or shorted; Sensor temperature above 149°F (65°C) or below -58°F (-50°C); Failed 502AT sensor
What actually causes this:
Sensor connector loosened or sensor failed; ice buildup can also cause the sensor to read incorrectly.
First Thing to Check
Re-seat the orange wire connector at CN30 pin 4 on the main board.
Parts Involved
How to Fix
- 1
Check MAIN PCB connectors CN30 and CN76 are fully seated
- 2
Measure resistance between CN30 #4 (Orange) and CN76 #1 (Gray) — compare to DATA1 table
- 3
Measure voltage at CN30 #4 (Orange) vs REG1 HEAT SINK ground — should be 0.6V to 4.6V
- 4
Check IC01 MICOM pin #77 input voltage
- 5
Check SENSOR MARKING #2 (R310) on PCB
