Error Code 1

Freezer temperature sensor has failed or disconnected

Moderate

Address soon - your appliance may not work properly

Also displayed as: LED 1 blink

What This Means

Sensor housing slipped out of connector; Wire cut (open circuit); Wire short circuit; Sensor reads temperature above +50°C or below -50°C (out of range)

What actually causes this:

The wire to the freezer thermistor has come loose, broken, or the sensor itself has gone bad — the control board can no longer read the freezer temperature.

First Thing to Check

Look at the sensor connector at Case Connector CN2 pins 1 and 5 to see if it is firmly seated.

Parts Involved

F-Room Temperature Sensor (THERMISTOR PX-41C)CN2 connector

How to Fix

  1. 1

Access self-diagnostic mode by pressing Freezer Key + Fridge Key simultaneously for 8 seconds

  2. 2

Measure voltage at Case Connector CN2 pin #1 to pin #5 — should read between 1.0V and 4.5V

  3. 3

If voltage is out of range, inspect sensor housing and wire harness connection

  4. 4

Compare measured voltage to sensor resistance/voltage table to verify temperature correlation
