Error Code 24

Freezer defrost heater circuit has a fault

Moderate

Address soon - your appliance may not work properly

Also displayed as: LED 24 blink

What This Means

Wire harness connection fault on F-Defrost heater circuit; Defrost heater open circuit; Bimetal overheat protector open; Relay RY73 defect on main PCB

What actually causes this:

The freezer defrost heater or one of its linked heaters/bimetal is not working, so the freezer evaporator coil will ice over.

First Thing to Check

Initiate forced defrost mode and listen for the buzzer pattern — if the freezer does not warm up within a few minutes, the heater circuit is open.

Parts Involved

F-Defrost Heater (AC 115V, 300W sheath heater)F-Drain Heater (AC 120V, 35W cord heater)F-SUB Drain Heater (AC 115V, 10W cold heater)Bimetal (AC 125V 6A / 250V 3A, 40±5°C ON / 60±5°C OFF)Relay RY73

How to Fix

  1. 1

Check wire harness connections related to F-Defrost heater

  2. 2

Perform forced defrost (Fd mode) and verify heater activates

  3. 3

Test relay RY73 (Freezer Defrost relay) on main PCB

  4. 4

Since F-Defrost heater is linked with Drain Heater and Sub Heater, individual part diagnosis is not possible — check full harness
