Error Code ICE MAKER ERROR
Ice maker has a sensor, function, or water pipe heater fault
Moderate
Address soon - your appliance may not work properly
Also displayed as: ICE Off LED blinking
What This Means
Ice maker sensor Hall IC or ejecting sensor failure or disconnection; Ice maker mechanical function failure; Water supply pipe heater open or short circuit; Wire harness not connected properly; Ice maker test switch fault
What actually causes this:
Failed ice maker sensor, seized ice maker mechanism, or open water pipe heater
First Thing to Check
Check resistance at CN90 #1 and #2 for heater (approx 62 ohm); check voltage at CN90 #5 and #8 for sensor
Parts Involved
How to Fix
- 1
Check voltage at MICOM MIC01 pin 21 - Standby: 5V, Rotating: 0V, Full Rotated: 5V, Rotating Back: 0V
- 2
Check continuity of ice pipe heater: measure resistance between MAIN PCB CN90 pin 1 and pin 2 - should be approximately 62 ohm
- 3
Check ice maker sensor voltage between MAIN PCB CN90 pin 5 and pin 8 - should be within 4.5V to 0.5V
- 4
Press ice maker Test Switch and verify rotation
- 5
Check wire harness connections to ice maker kit
- 6
For RT16A rotary model: check voltage between MAIN PCB MIC01 #21 and #9
