What actually causes this:
Failed defrost thermistor or broken wiring to defrost sensor
First Thing to Check
Measure voltage between CN30 pin 4 and pin 5

Check MAIN PCB CN30 connector is properly inserted

Measure voltage between MAIN PCB CN30 pin 4 and pin 5 (should be 4.5V to 0.5V)

If 0V = short; if 5V = open

Check IC10 MICOM Pin #51 input voltage
- 5
Verify MICOM #51 voltage matches CN30 #4 to #5
- 6
Replace F-DEF Sensor if out of range
