Error Code R6
Freezer compartment fan motor is not spinning or feedback signal lost
Critical
Stop using immediately - risk of damage or safety issue
Also displayed as: R6 (R-ROOM STEP 6 LED blinking)
What This Means
Defective BLDC freezer fan motor; Contact problem at MAIN PCB CN30 terminals #8 to #10; Contact problem at freezer fan motor connector; Defective motor wire harness; Feedback signal line fault
What actually causes this:
Failed freezer BLDC fan motor, loose connector at CN30, or broken motor feedback wire
First Thing to Check
Measure DC voltage between MAIN PCB GND and CN30 #9 (expect 7~12V when motor should run)
Parts Involved
How to Fix
- 1
Run Self-Diagnosis to confirm F-FAN error (R6)
- 2
Verify compressor is off
- 3
Measure DC voltage between MAIN PCB GND and CN30 #9 (should be DC 7~12V when commanded on)
- 4
Check if voltage alternates between DC 7~12V (CN30 #9) and less than DC 2V (CN30 #10) — this is the feedback pulse
- 5
Run Forced Operation mode 1
- 6
If fan operates in forced operation but not normal operation, replace MAIN PCB
- 7
If fan does not operate in forced operation, replace fan motor or check connector/wiring
