What actually causes this:
The door latch mechanism is worn out or misaligned, or a wire connection to the lock has come loose from vibration.
First Thing to Check
Turn off the washer, unplug it, wait one minute, then plug it back in and try closing the lid firmly.

4. Check the resistance for Lock/Unlock Contact: Lock (White-Red Wire), Unlock (White-Blue Wire) — resistance should be approximately 0.2 ohms between terminals of Contact

6. If the door lock switch unit is defective, replace it
