What This Means
Washing motor fault; Washing motor hall sensor fault; Incorrect connections of the washing motor/hall sensor connector; Overloading due to too much laundry; Main PCB fault; Foreign material causing motor stator damage
What actually causes this:
The washer is overloaded with too many clothes, or the motor sensor has failed
First Thing to Check
Remove about half the clothes from the washer and try again — overloading is the most common cause
Parts Involved
How to Fix
- 1
1. Check the motor connector terminal connections and contacts
- 2
2. Plug out the connector and read resistances at any two of the three terminals on the Motor coil. Should be 19.3 Ohm at 25°C
- 3
3. If the hall sensor terminal is faulty, replace the hall sensor
- 4
4. Check whether the motor cover is damaged due to foreign material
- 5
5. Check the resistance on the Hall Sensor (Between pins 2 and 3, 3 and 4, and 4 of the four pins). Hall IC connector: 1-V5, 2-Hall-A, 3-Hall-B, 4-GND, 5-Clutch. Resistance: Approx 2 to 4 M Ohm
- 6
6. Check the voltage when the power is on
- 7
7. If the PBA control circuit is faulty, replace the PBA
- 8
8. Evaluate wire harness for loose or unhooked connections; go to Quick Test Mode and test Motor
