What This Means

Pump motor impeller is damaged internally; Wrong voltage is supplied to the parts; Drain pump part fault; Freezing in the winter season; Drain hose is clogged (injection check, foreign material); Foreign material clogging the pump — rubber bands, bills, cotton, hair pins, coins collected inside the drain pump assembly; Water pump terminal is not connected; Drain pump revolutions restrained by foreign material; Poor physical connection on wire connectors; Main PCB fault; Drain pump fault

What actually causes this:

A clogged drain pump filter is the most common cause — small items like coins, hair clips, or lint build up and block the pump.

First Thing to Check

Open the small access panel at the bottom front of the washer, place a towel down, unscrew the drain filter cap, and check for debris.

How to Fix

  1. 1

    1. Check drain pump resistance — Drain: 13.5 to 16.5 ohms; Bubble pump: 18.75 to 22.75 ohms

  2. 2

    2. Check the wire connections and terminal contacts on the drain pump assembly

  3. 3

    3. Check whether the drain pump revolutions are restrained by foreign material and remove as directed

  4. 4

    4. Check wire connectors on the main PCB

  5. 5

    5. If freezing is the cause, use a hair dryer to defrost; consider relocating the unit to a warmer temperature location
