What This Means

Washing heater short-circuited or wire disconnected; Washing heater contact error; Temperature sensor fault; Water level sensor operating without water (frozen water); Heater engagement fault (out of place)

What actually causes this:

The heating element burned out or its wiring came loose

First Thing to Check

Unplug the washer for 60 seconds, then restart

How to Fix

  1. 1

    1. Check the resistance between the heater terminals A and B — should be 25.19 to 27.84 Ohm (Type 1)

  2. 2

    2. If Type 1 is OK, change the wash-thermistor at the back of the tub (Type 2)

  3. 3

    3. Check the temperature sensor at the center of the dry heater

  4. 4

    4. Check the steam heater — replace if faulty
