5 technician insights for the this appliance
SMPS Power Supply Critical Values
Main PCB SMPS takes 120V input and produces 12V and 5V outputs. If these output voltages are absent, the PCB has failed and must be replaced. Always check these voltages before assuming sensor or component failure.
Voltage Measurement Safety
Always measure AC voltage, not DC, for this appliance circuits. Terminal block provides 240V/120V AC. Main PCB provides 12V DC and 5V DC outputs only. Measuring wrong voltage scale can damage meter.
installation
The valve cooktop screw torque specification of 1.5 N·m is critical. Over-torquing can crack the valve body creating a gas leak; under-torquing causes the valve to loosen over time from heat cycling. Always use a torque driver for final valve assembly.
Electrical Noise from Steam Pump Circuit
Electric modelsIf you see C-70 steam sensor errors appearing randomly but sensor tests good, the problem is often electrical noise from the drain pump motor interfering with the analog sensor input circuit - try routing the steam sensor wire 6+ inches away from the pump motor power wire and use shielded cable if replacing harness
