Steam Generator Water Mineral Buildup
Hard water deposits and minerals accumulate in the steam system causing drain errors (C-72). Always use distilled water in steam mode and flush the reservoir monthly. Mineral buildup can clog the drain pump and water sensors.
Water System Components in Steam Oven
This model includes water pump (RY215), drain pump (RY214), water level sensor, water inlet sensor, water tank motors CW (RY218) and CCW (RY219). All five water management components must function for steam mode to work.
Steam System Mineral Buildup
The drain pump C-72 error often appears in areas with hard water - before replacing the pump, run white vinegar through the steam generator to dissolve mineral deposits that can block the drain sensor - this solves 60% of C-72 codes without parts replacement
