WiFi Module Factory Reset Procedure

If the refrigerator's WiFi SSID does not appear during SmartThings setup, hold the Lock button until 'Ar' shows on the display (about 12 seconds) to factory reset the WiFi module. This is the first step before replacing the module.

Try this first

Door seal failures causing temperature errors

When you see error 71 (freezer) or 72 (fridge) abnormal temperature, always check the door seal first before replacing expensive compressor parts. A loose or torn gasket is the most common cause. The gasket provides insulation and prevents warm air infiltration. A small tear that seems insignificant can let enough warm air in to trigger the temperature warning. Simply sliding a dollar bill around the perimeter - if it pulls out easily, you need a new gasket.

Try this first

WiFi Module Antenna and 2.4GHz vs 5GHz Band Selection

The WiFi module sometimes has weak signal due to antenna orientation inside the top panel. If WiFi keeps disconnecting or appears to not connect, try repositioning the router closer to the refrigerator's top and ensure 2.4GHz band is enabled (5GHz often has range issues through thick cabinet materials). The module supports both bands but 2.4GHz is more reliable in confined spaces. Factory reset (hold lock button 12 seconds until display shows 'Ar') clears pairing issues.

Humidity Sensor and Fridge Condensation Relationship

Excessive condensation on fridge shelves or walls isn't always humidity sensor failure. High indoor ambient humidity above 50% combined with frequent door opening stresses the refrigerator's dehumidification capacity. In humid climates (Florida, coastal areas, etc), it's normal to see more condensation. If humidity sensor output is within normal range (1-4V at CN90 #4-#2), but condensation visible, the system is working correctly — customer expectations need adjustment, not repair.
