Error Code dE

Door open or door switch abnormal. During normal operation displays when door is opened mid-cycle. In test mode indicates door switch fault.

What This Means

Door not fully latched; Door switch defective; Door switch wiring harness disconnected or damaged

How to Fix

   Enter diagnostic mode (Power + More Time + Less Time simultaneously)

   Press START/PAUSE once — dryer tumbles without heat

3. 3

   Open door — dE code and chime (7 times) should appear and drum light should come on

4. 4

   If dE does not appear and light does not come on, proceed to mechanical test

5. 5

   Disconnect WH1 and BL3 connectors from main PCB

   Measure resistance between WH6 pin 6 (GN) and chassis ground screw — must be less than 1 Ohm

   If resistance is not less than 1 Ohm, check all wiring harness connections and ground screws

   If resistance is less than 1 Ohm, disconnect BL2 and WH4 connectors from main PCB

   Measure resistance between BL2-1 (WH) and WH4-1 (YL): must be less than 1 Ohm with door closed and infinity (open) with door open

    If readings are incorrect, replace door switch

    If readings are correct, replace main PCB

    For drum light check: measure resistance between WH4-2 (YL) and WH4-4 (BK) — less than 1 Ohm with door open, infinity with door closed; if not, replace light bulb or light socket
