What This Means

Steam generator thermistor malfunction

How to Fix

1. 1

   Enter diagnostic test mode: unit in standby, press Power, then press More Time and Less Time simultaneously for 0.5 seconds

2. 2

   Press START/PAUSE four times to reach pump test step (allow each step to complete before pressing next)

3. 3

   Do not press buttons in rapid succession as this can damage the main board

4. 4

   Check display for AD value: if value is 10 or higher, pump is normal and tE5 should not appear

5. 5

   If AD value is below 10 or tE5 appears: check connection between harness wire and pump connector for loose pins or corrosion

6. 6

   Reseat all connectors on the DC pump harness

7. 7

   If connections are good and fault persists, replace the DC water supply pump
