Freezer BLDC fan motor error — no feedback signal from fan motor for more than 65 seconds

Moderate

How to Fix

  1. 1

Reset the unit, then enter Test Mode 1 (press Main PCB test button once). Open the freezer door and check for air flow from the duct. If air is flowing, proceed to step 4.

  2. 2

If no air flow, manually rotate the fan blade by hand. If the fan feels sticky or does not spin freely, replace the fan motor.

  3. 3

Check fan motor supply voltage at CON4 Pin 20 ~ Pin 19 in Test Mode 1. Should be 11.4–12.6 V. If voltage is absent, replace Main PCB.

  4. 4

With supply voltage confirmed, check fan feedback voltage at CON4 Pin 18 ~ Pin 19. If reading is 0 V or 5 V (not a valid feedback signal), replace the fan motor.

  5. 5

Check PWM signal voltage at CON4 Pin 17 ~ Pin 19. If reading is 0 V or 5 V (not a valid PWM signal), replace Main PCB.

  6. 6

If all voltages are correct and fan rotates freely, explain to customer (possible temporary obstruction).
