Defrost sensor error — short-circuit or disconnection of freezer defrost sensor

How to Fix

  1. 1

    Check CON8 Pin 26 ~ Pin 25 for short (0 Ω): if shorted, replace defrost sensor.

  2. 2

    Check for open (infinite) resistance at Pin 26 ~ Pin 25: if open, replace refrigerator (sensor assembly).

  3. 3

    Check the connector between Main PCB, defrost controller, and sensor for loose or damaged connections. Reconnect or repair.

  4. 4

    With connections restored, measure sensor resistance and compare against table (23°F=38kΩ, 32°F=30kΩ, 41°F=24kΩ, 50°F=19.5kΩ, 59°F=16kΩ). If in range, explain to customer.
